A land of the future, Auvergne looks to its students with two universities and seven graduate schools along with many research centres.
Auvergne is home to (all subjects included) 405,000 students and 5,000 researchers in numerous establishments and very diversified sectors.

Research partnerships
Whether public or private, research is widespread in Auvergne with 6,000 researchers. Public research involves the two universities and specific centres:

 Technology transfer centres to promote innovation
Technology clusters or transfer platforms: Auvergne has developed several tools to enable companies to adapt innovation from initial research: Casimir, regional technology transfer cluster, Alli@tech, Mec@prod, Forbois@Auvergne.
