These centres are namely backed by diversified and relevant training facilities, a particularly active research centre as well as several technology transfer centres. 

 

Thanks to its advantageous geographical location, Auvergne is also well placed to develop the logistics sector. Auvergne can boast four Government-approved clusters. The clusters group enterprises, training centres and research units in a given place working on common innovative national and international-scale projects. The clusters of Auvergne are focused on the following topics:

- mechanical engineering, aircraft, automotive: ViaMéca
- rubber: Elastopole
